Weak coupling limit of the full Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonian

We study the weak coupling limit (WCL) of the Pauli–Fierz Hamiltonian describing a nonrelativistic particle interacting with a quantized bosonic field. In a mathematically rigorous framework, we derive an effective Hamiltonian and prove convergence of the renormalized Hamiltonian to this limit, including the asymptotic behavior of the effective mass, using operator-theoretic methods and Feynman–Kac formulas.
